It's on again! In the last two years, Eliza Park has raised over $160,000 of much needed funds for Living Legends – the international home of rest for champion horses – through auctioning its lineup of stallions 'online' and now we're doing it all again.
This year the stallions on offer (with their advertised service fees) are:

ASTRONOMER ROYAL - $8,800
(New to Eliza Park in 2011. Classic winning son of Danzig whose mares in foal have sold up to $240,000 and first crop weanlings sold in 2011 up to $90,000 - over 10 times service fee)

BEL ESPRIT - $27,500
(Champion Victorian Sire for 4th successive season with only five crops of racing age, surpassing Encosta de Lago. Sire of over 100 individual winners in 2010/11 including World Champion Racehorse, Black Caviar)

BUSHRANGER - $9,900
(Champion 2YO of England and Champion 2YO of France – track record holder for 6 furlongs at Newmarket. Covered record book of 190 mares in Ireland in first season at stud)

DISSOLVED - $5,500
(New to Eliza Park in 2011. This Flemington stakes winning son of Champion Australian Sire, Lonhro, is out of a half sister to 7-time G1 winner Grand Armee and was described by trainer John Hawkes to possess "abundant speed and tremendous potential")

GOD'S OWN - $13,750
(Group One winning son of Redoute's Choice; yearlings sold to $310,000 in 2010 and $160,000 in 2011. Progeny include Vatican, Miss Holyfield, Utah Saints, Lady Pania, Canonized etc.)

MAGNUS - $22,000
(Brilliant sprinting son of Flying Spur; winner of The Galaxy-G1 and The Age Classic [now G1] and first 4 finish in 10 G1 events; oldest progeny have just turned 2 and sold up to $120,000 on the Gold Coast, $130,000 in Melbourne and a sale topping $170,000 in Sydney)

SHARKBITE - $5,500
(Unbeaten at 2; SW in Melbourne and 2nd to Haradasun in Vain S-LR; best bred son of Redoute's Choice at stud. First crop weanlings sold up to 7 times service fee in 2011)

MAGNUS - $22,000
(Brilliant sprinting son of Flying Spur; winner of The Galaxy-G1 and The Age Classic [now G1] and first 4 finish in 10 G1 events; oldest progeny are yearlings)

SHARKBITE - $5,500
(Unbeaten at 2; SW in Melbourne and 2nd to Haradasun in Vain S-LR; best bred son of Redoute’s Choice at stud)

SHINZIG - $8,800
(CF Orr Stakes-G1 winning son of Danehill out the G1 winner & Rosehill track record holder Shindig; oldest progeny are now 2 and sold up to $160,000 in Melbourne in 2011)

STATUE OF LIBERTY - $17,600
(Outstanding stakes winners to runners in Australia (5.8%). Sire of arguably the world's greatest male sprinter in Hay List, along with G2 winner Mic Mac, SW 2YO Broadway Harmony etc.)

SUPER SAVER - $16,500
(New to Eliza Park in 2011. Kentucky Derby winner and G2 winning 2YO at Churchill Downs in stakes record time. Boasting a stallion's pedigree, Super Saver covered 140 mares in Kentucky including 100 stakes performers or dams of stakes performers)

WRITTEN TYCOON - $11,000
(Champion Australian First Season in 2010/11 - the best value Champion Sire in well over a decade!)

 

The Eliza Park/Living Legends Online Auction closes at 3pm on Friday 26 August, with the highest tender accorded the 2011 stallion nomination.

Attendees at the Eliza Park Open Day & Industry Expo on 26 August will have the opportunity to bid in person and winners will be announced at 4pm. Successful bidders not in attendance at the Open Day & Industry Expo will be notified by email. Successful tenders will be posted online.

Please note that Eliza Park's 'Best Terms' apply to this online auction, ie. No payment of service fee is required until 31 March 2012 and a Transferrable Free Return (ie. the mare can be sold with a free return attached as long as the service fee has been paid in full and that the stallion stands at Eliza Park the following season).

The winning tenderer is deemed to the legally bound purchaser.
