CLANGALANG'S BLACK : GEE IT WAS A GOOD WIN

We’re not saying too much about the name, but Geegees Blackflash certainly made one helluva impression at Hobart on Sunday (9 August), winning his 1100m assignment by four plus lengths.

After some good lead up form – which included cheques at his previous four outings – the John Luttrell 3YO was cherry ripe for Hobart and gave rivals a good look at his big black backside over the concluding stages.

Bred by P and E Geard (who also race the Clanglang speedster after purchasing the mare in foal from Eliza Park at the 2006 Inglis June Sale), Geegees Blackflash is out of the Grand Lodge mare La Quita, a half sister to South Australian Derby-G1 and Sandown Cup-G2 winner Cheviot from the family of Golden Slipper winner Eskimo Prince.
