Black Caviar’s Blue Sapphire romp brought back happy memories for the Eliza Park crew, given that Gold in Dubai – the Mark Riley trained son of our foundation sire, Desert Sun – won the race last year.

And we can justifiably lay some claim to a record here as the Blue Sapphire has only been staged twice as a black type event and an Eliza Park stallion has won both!
