GOLFERS HIDDEN TALENTS

Eliza Park’s annual golf day at Wallan’s spectacular Hidden Valley course on Monday 16 March again proved to be highly popular event for a cross section of industry folk.

Tiger Woods or anyone resembling the world No. 1 were sadly absent but it certainly didn’t diminish the enjoyment of a happy bunch of hackers.

Winners on the day – for the second year in a row – was the Talwood Park/Sirecam foursome headed up by Peter Morgan and Michael Christian with the more than able assistance of Bill Mitchell who was clearly the best individual performer over the 18 holes.

In second pozzie was Adam Tims’ Stable Financial team while the HorsePower group – who made the trek from the North East – grabbed bronze.

Tailing the field was the Griffiths Racing quartet who have clearly spent more time on the turf and not enough on the green.

As a golfer, Robbie Griffiths clearly makes a great trainer! Our thanks to all the groups that participated and we hope to see you all back for next year.

The sole filly in the field – Valerie Boyd – gave notice of her intention to return and promised a greater gender balance for 2010’s lineup.

Also, a big thank you to Hidden Valley’s golf pro, Justin Hooper, who gave generously of his time: despite his tips clearly falling on a few deaf ears!
