| GOD'S OWN'S PREMIER PREMIERE
God’s Own has continued on his ‘winning’ ways with a robust average of $72,643 during a tough day at the office for Melbourne Premier vendors. Just as they had appealed to a $90k plus audience on the Gold Coast, the first crop of God’s Own were sought out by an enthusiastic buying bench which included Duncan Ramage of DGR Thoroughbred Services ($105,000), Tony Noonan ($90,000), Mick Price ($60,000) and Mark Pilkington (on behalf of David Hayes) for $50,000. Cranbourne trainer, Robbie Griffiths, also jumped in with $87,500 and $85,000 for a pair of fillies from Eliza Park’s draft. Boasting the second largest representation at this year’s Premier, God’s Own has eight due to go through the ring in today’s Second Session, including a colt from the Kenny’s Best Pal mare, Carbonated, a half sister to Group winners Intelligent Star and Blaze The Turf. Meanwhile, Eliza Park finished the session with a $73,500 average for its five lots sold which included $70,000 for the Bel Esprit colt from Roskeel (purchased by Heinrich Racing), $40,000 for a Johannesburg filly (Mark Pilkington) and $85,000 for a Galileo colt (Lloyd Williams). Following yesterday’s trade there are three yearlings available including the Anabaa colt (Lot 25) closely related to Group One winner Reactive; a Bel Esprit filly (Lot 56) from a half sister to the multiple Group placed Kaemess; and a Royal Academy filly (Lot 88) from a half sister to Group Two winner Tears Royal.
