| BLUTIGEROO WINS CANBERRA CUP
It’s been a while between drinks, but Blutigeroo was back to his best in yesterday’s (30 November) Canberra Cup, holding on gamely to notch up his 12th win and third stakes victory. Sent out a $9 shot, Blutigeroo rebutted the challenge of favourite Imulva and adds another $130,000 to the kitty and pushes the $10,000 yearling purchase over the $2 million mark in stakes. It was Blutigeroo’s first win since taking out last year’s STC BMW-G1 in Sydney – some 20 months previously – but the son of Encounter has collected cheques in the Sydney Cup (5th) and Caulfield Cup (7th) in between. Sold by Eliza Park at the 2003 Melbourne Premier, Blutigeroo derives his name from his trio of owners: supporters of Carlton (Blues), Richmond (Tigers) and North Melbourne (Roos) respectively. |
